Tie-dye Results!

So I was so excited that when I woke up I immediately rinsed out my shirts, there is no way I could've waited any longer, maybe next time I will to see if it really makes a difference.  I started with the panties since I cared least about them, if a lot of dye washed away, I was gonna give it another day.  Things went well, I didn't think to take pictures till after that one but I did the same thing to all of them.  So that was all the confidence I needed to rinse my shirts.

Probably doing it outside might be better but my bathtub is stained anyways and it worked out fine, I have one of those detachable shower heads.  So I started by rinsing with cold water for a minute while it was still bundled up.

I took the rubber bands off and rinsed till the water was clear, I little out a little squeal of joy when I saw this, the colors were a lot more vibrant wet.  I debated about hanging them outside or tossing them in the dryer, the next batch I'll hang but I thought it might rain anyways and figured the dryer probably wouldn't be much different, any thoughts on this?
So I'm glad I decided the heart should be on the back, it's not much of a heart really, but you get the point, and I'm excited about them.
This is what this is what the front turned out like, see what I mean.
Oh so excited about this one, I'm wearing it now, again, it's a lot lighter than when I rinsed it, maybe the dye wasn't dark enough?  Is it because I dried in the dryer?  I'm still very happy overall, also, any cleaning suggestions, should I handwash a few times before throwing in with other clothes?
This one was last minute, I had dye left that I couldn't bare to just pour down the drain, It looked very Mardi Gras after I dyed it, I'm pretty happy with it also, I spun this one and rubber banded the same way except I started spinning over to the side.  I did a spiral design instead of the pie pieces with 3 colors instead of 4, I really can't distinguish a big difference in overall design of the 2 methods, and they're both pretty easy.  So those are my results, I'm pretty pleased with myself, I thought it could be disasterous, but turned out pretty nice, oh except that 2nd shirt ended up having a small tear where the sleeve is attached, I don't recall it being there before, but it was just those cheap hane shirts so maybe that's why.

  1. I'm jealous!! I can't wait to do this. The panties are awesome! I've always heard to hang dry. but it seems the dryer heat would set the color in.
